Each summer a local language school brings a group of 10-15 teenage students of English to Arts Lab. Working with an artist who is a fully certified TEFL teacher, they spend the day drawing and painting in the studio and the surorunding gardens at Dartington. Seen more as an opportunity to have another ‘English’ experience, there is no expectation for paticipants to be budding artists. Away from the contraints of the classroom, they are able to communicate more naturally and with confidence without fear of making mistakes.
