Building shared experiences of winter through painting & words
Over the course of 7 days, Glasgow-based visual artist Louise Schmid based herself at the Lab to develop ideas around cyclical change and rhizomes. With inspiration and natural materials taken from nearby Dartmoor, she facilitated others to evoke the midwinter landscape of our imaginations and surroundings. Working with the most direct and elementary materials and tools, such as graphite and sticks on large sheets of paper, she involved members of the public in the studio and Arts Lab’s Great Prison Art Exchange group of prisoners at Dartmoor Prison.
