Strengthening family bonds between young mums & their children
‘The feedback was that they loved being able to let their children loose with art materials. They enjoyed getting “arty” with their children. All of the mums said that they would love to see more groups like this’

In the Summer of 2015, Plymouth Arts Centre in collaboration with The Zone commissioned Sara to run a series of workshops in Barne Barton, Plymouth with a group of young mothers (15-25 yrs) and their toddlers. The aim was to help build and strengthen family bonds through a shared and fun experience of making art together. The point of bringing in an experienced artist was to at the same time inspire individual creative expression and make some beautiful art to take away. The sessions were assisted by a a 2nd year Fine Art student from Plymouth University and 1 community support worker.
‘….. a HUGE thank you for running the sessions. I’m really pleased that you persisted and found some enthusiastic families to join the fun and I hope you know that we really do appreciate all of your hard work.’
