Upcycling discarded art 

Since 2013, Sara has been using as the starting point for her own painting, discarded artwork made by participants in her workshops. Many of her collages incorporate sections of collaborative murals from past sessions with groups of art students, dancers, refugees, secondary school students, rehabilitated youth offenders. The experience of shared making past, any artwork left in the studio is deconstructed, reworked and reconstructed. The pieces take on a new life built from layers revealing the workings of previous, unknowing ‘collaborators’.
