She will then give you a demonstration of a new art technique that everyone can try together. Lastly, she will set you the activities for the next week. Sophy is fully DBS-checked. Her Zoom settings will enable a safe online experience; please read the safeguarding contract sent out with your booking confirmation. For further information, contact Sophy D’Angelo.
‘In this project we will play with creating images inspired by objects, pets, people and events around the home, imaginatively explored through drawing, collage and paint.
We will share the experience of making individual visual diaries of our experiences over the next 10 weeks. Each week will have a theme that I will give you the week before we meet. Our themes will be: faces, pets, precious objects, fashion, word art, outside, food, moods, dream holiday, inside.
Some of the techniques we will explore: collage and paint, tape transfers, pressing and rubbings, continuous line, mood boards, patterned collage, stencil work, wax resist.’

A bit about Sophy:
‘I am a London born artist educator with over 20 years experience of art practice in a range of media. Graduated from UWE, University of the West of England, in BA Hons Art and Social Context, focusing on community and public arts, I fostered a love of working with groups, making art. Having relocated to Devon a few years ago, I really enjoy working in the informal environment of Arts Lab, supporting people in their individual and collective creative process. Arts Lab reflects my values of practice, facilitating the empowerment and enrichment of visual art, accessible to as wide a group as possible.
My previous work includes, festivals, carnivals, after school programmes, summer schemes, family days, gallery education and outreach, for organisations including APPLE (Acton Play Park Leisure Events), Thames Festival, Kids Company, Tate Modern, Morley College and Dulwich Picture Gallery. Currently I also teach art and photography at the South Devon Steiner School.’
