The story of Bike. The artist created this piece, along with many others alone in his cell, locked in up to 23 hours a day during Covid. In part, prompted by weekly Arts Lab activities delivered in envelopes, but primarily through his own talent and hard work, his work illustrates his love of the stuff of paint, exploring its versatility as a medium. Keep an eye open for more of his work on display on this platform.

‘Encouraged to explore new approaches to making art, I’ve discovered that I love painting and all of the things it can do. Each time I make a picture, I discover something new, pleasantly surprised by the end result.’ Dartmoor prisoner
