A Summer Making Art and Building Partnerships

An opportunity for partners to experience the Arts Lab methodology in action.

Looking back at some of Arts Lab’s partnerships over the years, the most lasting ones have started with making and looking at art together. If a collaboration is to be long-term and mutually fruitful, it needs to begin with experiencing the Arts Lab approach to relationship-building, communication and building bridges – together.

From collaborative painting with prison officers at Dartington, to building 3D ‘peace buildings’ with creative health pioneers and South African peacebuilders at the Rural Peace Hub, making together creates a memorable shared experience. More importantly, it offers partners a direct experience of the Arts Lab methodology in action – and its potential to build connection, communication and trust.

This summer, we’ve enjoyed sharing the Rural Peace Hub studio with Newcastle-based VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector consultants and creative health practitioners, plus peacebuilders from a woman’s human rights NGO in Cape Town.
