Arts Lab’s Spring Experiment 2019 brings Bath’s Forged Line Dance Company to the studio. Artists and dancers at any stage of development are invited to spend an afternoon with us to explore and develop connections between movement and visual art.

Blending artforms of dance, drawing and painting, you will see excerpts from Forged Line’s new work ‘Treasure’ and create interpretations through movement, drawing and painting. In turn, the Bath dancers will respond to our 2D creations. Arts Lab’s Sara Downham-Lotto will be facilitating the visual art element.

Forged Line Dance Company are touring their new work ‘Treasure’ which is a contemporary dance work inspired by human connections to the sea, spanning geological past, recent memories and current threats to marine life from climate change and pollution.

Interpretations will explore the visual and visceral stimuli behind ‘Treasure’, connecting movement with imagery through an afternoon of workshops, performance and discussion.

We aim to create an open and engaging dialogue between artists and art forms, with a view to a longer term collaboration in the future. Please join us for this exciting first day of conversations between movement and visual art!
